Numerous sporting, cultural and leisure activities. We highly recommend a walk around Punta del Fangar, in the north of the Delta, where terns, seagulls and pink flamingos regularly nest. You will be struck by its desert-like appearance, with its peculiar dunes stretching for 6 km along the sea. You can also go kayaking on the Ebro, for example, between the beautiful villages of Miravet and Benifallet, or go sport fishing in the areas where it is allowed.
TARRAGONA
World Heritage
Tarragona is a surprising city where you can discover a millenary civilisation. Strolling through its streets you will be struck by its rich historical and monumental heritage, considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
What can you do here? A host of things, from dining under the vaults of the Roman circus, getting lost in the alleyways of the old town, where the essence of the medieval city is still intact, or having a vermouth immersed in more than 2,000 years of history.
If you are a history lover, you cannot leave without visiting two of its most representative monuments, the Amphitheatre and the Roman Circus. It is also highly recommended to see the great model of Tarraco in the Plaça del Pallol, which represents the city in the 2nd century, the period of its greatest splendour.
In the highest part of the city, you will find the Cathedral. If you arrange a guided tour, you can climb its bell tower and enjoy splendid 360º views of the city.
Places of interest: Cathedral / Roman Amphitheatre / Roman Circus / La Rambla Nova / Balcony of the Mediterranean / Plaza de la Font or Forum Square / Serrallo Quarter / Beaches.
